Bonnie Carter

Bonnie Carter first discovered Pilates in 2003 during a group mat class at her local gym. Initially drawn to it as a fun abs workout, she quickly became fascinated by the focus and mind-body connection the practice required. In 2007, while transitioning out of a career as a stage manager in the theatre, Bonnie began taking private Pilates lessons to deepen her practice. It was during this time that she fully realized Pilates’ potential to address and strengthen areas of imbalance in her body, particularly those caused by scoliosis and tibial torsion (a leg alignment condition). Remarkably, she stood a full inch taller after starting lessons—a testament to the power of consistent, mindful movement.

Inspired by her own transformation and the guidance of her teachers, Bonnie pursued classical training through Romana’s Pilates, earning her 600-hour certification in 2010.

Throughout her pregnancies, Bonnie continued her Pilates practice, which sparked a deep interest in the postpartum body. After being diagnosed with diastasis recti following the birth of her son, she used modified exercises and a gentle, supportive approach to restore pelvic floor function, rebuild core strength, and regain stability. She now brings that same care and expertise to her work with new moms, helping them navigate their own postpartum recovery journeys with confidence and compassion.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle and non-invasive healing technique that originated in Japan. It is based on the belief that there is a universal life force energy that flows through every living being, and when this energy is blocked or imbalanced, it can lead to physical, emotional, and spiritual ailments. Reiki practitioners use their hands to channel this healing energy to the recipient, promoting relaxation, stress reduction, and overall well-being.

During a Reiki session, the practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above the recipient's body, allowing the energy to flow and rebalance. It is a deeply calming and soothing experience, often described as a warm, radiant sensation. Reiki is not associated with any specific religion or belief system, making it accessible to people of various backgrounds.

Many people seek Reiki as a complementary therapy to support their overall health and enhance their body's natural healing abilities.
